DetailsPosition SummaryThe Product Manager is a key position and is accountable for the health of the product line in terms of margin and market share.
The Product Manager, under minimal supervision, is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing customer needs, identifying product requirements, defining the product vision via a program plan, and working closely with sales, marketing, manufacturing, and engineering to ensure both company objectives and customer satisfaction goals are achieved.
Essential Functions of the Job Create a strategic product plan to maintain and strengthen Super Products' market position including:
Conduct voice of the customer (VOC) and other market research to define market size, identify industry trends, and evaluate potential new products.
Analyze competitors and competitive products within a SWOT framework.
Deliver Product Roadmap and Engineering release schedule with detailed features and timing covering both new product development and current product enhancements.
Work with Sales and Marketing to perform price and feature analysis and recommend strategies to improve the market position and margin.
Lead all aspects of product development including:
Deliver detailed marketing plans and product definition documents based on feedback from customers (VOC), channels, and competitive benchmarks.
Create the business case and establish program milestones in conjunction with engineering, manufacturing, finance, sales, and marketing.
Manage prototype field test programs including identifying participating customers, gathering user feedback, and approving production readiness.
Work with all departments to deliver on-target and on-schedule product launches.
Be the primary contact and coordinator for product information and specifications.
Monitor and manage financial performance of products.
Provide content for, review and approve sales literature, sales tools, promotions, ads, and other marketing materials.
Prepare competitive product comparisons to be used as sales and training aids for Salesforce, customer service and dealer network.
Assist in coordinating and executing sales meetings and sales training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's) Track record of taking product through the complete life cycle.
Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
Must be able to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
Must be able to meet deadlines.
Possess a hands-on attitude and the mechanical aptitude to understand and operate equipment.
Innovative thinker.
Able to visualize and adapt products to solve customer's problems.
Advanced ability in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation computer programs required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or similar required; technical background preferred; MBA preferred.

year's product management experience required.
Experience with mobile heavy equipment products preferred.
Working ConditionsMust be able to lift, carry, push, or pull (up to 50lbs) and climb ladders.
Able to travel locally and nationally up to 25% of the time and as needed.
